FARM SPIRIT IS THE PASSION PROJECT OF HUSBAND AND WIFE DUO, RYAN MCDONALD & ASHLEY BATISTE.

 BOTH HAVING A LONG HISTORY WITH FOOD, BEVERAGE AND HOSPITALITY, WE WANTED TO CREATE A NEW SPACE FOR FRESH IDEAS IN THE INDUSTRY.  WE FEEL THAT FARM TO TABLE IS JUST THE WAY IT OUGHT TO BE SO WE OFFER UP: FRIEND TO TABLE.  OUR INTENTION IS TO PROVIDE MORE THAN JUST A MEAL SO WE SET OUR FOCUS ON BUILDING COMMUNITY AROUND FOOD. WE COULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT MAKING SURE TO INCORPORATE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINABILITY, FOOD JUSTICE, AND KEEPING AN ANTI-FOOD-WASTE MENTALITY.

 

WE SOURCE EVERYTHING LOCALLY AND DO ALL OF OUR OWN BUTCHERING! WHOLE ANIMAL BUTCHERING IS VERY MUCH A LOST ART...ONE OF THOSE TRADES THAT USED TO BE AN ANCHOR OF EACH MAIN STREET, AND LONG BEFORE THAT A BASIC FUNCTION FOR HUMANS TO FEED THEMSELVES.  THE BURGERS AND BEEF BACON WE MAKE START WITH WHOLE PRICE FAMILY FARMS BEEFS. OUR BREAKFAST SAUSAGE, BACON AND CHARCUTERIE PROJECTS ALL BEGIN WITH SUCH AND SUCH FARM PORK. WE PROVIDE CUSTOM PORK PROCESSING FOR PRIVATE CUSTOMERS AS WELL AS THE PORK CUTS AND SAUSAGE FOR SUCH AND SUCH FARM. FOR US ITS JUST THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT AND WE HOPE YOU CAN TASTE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE PRODUCTS WE OFFER. EVERY MEMBER OF OUR CREW HAS PICKED UP THE SKILL SET AND WE'RE INCREDIBLY LUCKY TO HAVE A TEAM OF FOLKS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE INGREDIENTS WE USE.

 

WE OFFER UP OUR KNOWLEDGE TO OUR COMMUNITY BY WAY OF CLASSES FOR FOLKS WHO ARE INTERESTED AT HAVING A MORE INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR FOOD.

 

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SUCH AND SUCH FARM, WE HOST AN ONGOING DINNER SERIES AT THEIR 120 ACRE HOMESTEAD IN DESOTO, MO UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF A BUSINESS WE CREATED TOGETHER CALLED HOMIE HOSPITALITY! WE OFTEN BRING IN LOCAL CHEFS AND FOOD ORGANIZATIONS, AND ARE ABLE TO CREATE TRULY SPECIAL DINING EXPERIENCES.  UTILIZING WHAT WE CAN GROW, RAISE AND FORAGE SEASONALLY,  WE CREATE UNIQUE MENUS, COOKED EXCLUSIVELY ON WOOD FIRE.​
